TRAIN WITH JESSICA
A Colorado native, Jessica's inherant love for horses started from a young age; growing up in a non-horsey family, she is fortunate to have parents who support and encourage following the childhood dream of riding and competing in the top levels of Eventing.
In 2003 Jessica traveled across the country to Southern Pines, NC to train with the legenendary Denny Emerson at Tamarack Hill Farm.
For seven months, she remained as a working student with Denny and eventually branched off with his assistant trainer of 14 years, Lynn Coates-Holmes. Lynn established LCH Enterprises in Aiken SC where Jessica worked as an assistant while attending college for a BSN in Nursing.
Under Lynn’s training Jessica competed through intermediate HT and two long-format CCI 1* with her self-made Jamocha.
With Lynn’s clientele Jessica rode and competed a variety of horses and learned the ins-and-outs of running an event barn with an emphasis in both training and selling horses.
In addition to eventing, Jessica worked as an exercise jockey breaking and training young Thoroughbreds in Aiken for Dogwood Stables for 5+ years as well as Canadian Mike Keogh and for Hall of Fame trainer Bill Mott in Saratoga, NY.
The experience gained in cross-training helped to develop a strong background in starting young horses and retraining OTTBs.
Jessica's most notable top horse, Lock N Load, was purchased as a 3 year old OTTB near Suffolk Downs. He was testing from the start with the talent and drive of a true UL horse, and the amount of patience and skill learned from the horse was insurmountable.
The patient efforts it took in developing a partnership eventually led to great success in competition including wins in The Ocala CCI* from start to finish in 2009 and a win in the VA CIC2* in 2012 before moving up to the Advanced level.
Since then, Jessica has continued produce both personal and client horses for sale and for competion, with the aspiration of competing at the top levels of the sport.
After purchasing the farm in Aiken, SC, Jessica continues to strive to build an honest and reputable business in the community, resulting in many long-standing clients. Her passion and dedication to the sport has helped to develop a strong program training and developing both horses and riders.

Competition Horses
Jessica's treasured partners.
Lock N' Load
Now enjoying retirement at FPE
Jessica's most notable top horse and first upper level partner, Lock N Load, was purchased as a 3 year old OTTB near Suffolk Downs.
Inferno
Now Proudly owned by Rhonda Sexton
"Pyro": 2009 17.0h dark bay OTTB gelding by Preakness winner Bernardini.
Originally a steeplechaser, Pyro was spotted in action by Jessica at the Aiken Fall Steeplechase who states she "immediately saw a horse galloping around Fair Hill" when he galloped by her and over one of the brush jumps.
Jessica inquired about the owner's willingness to sell him and the horse was in her barn a few short hours later.
Produced through the sport by Jessica, Pyro became a solid Preliminary/CCI2S mount and made the move up to Intermediate before moving on to bring a YR up the levels of the sport.

Hardwired
Now proudly owned by Melissa Morgan Paul
"Harvey" 2015 gray OTTB gelding by Exchange Rate.
With results that speak for themselves, Hardwired has been competitive from the start and is one of the most exciting young horses in the barn. Unquestionably a future UL horse, Harvey's skills are being developed patiently and skillfully by Jessica.
Qualified for the YEH-5 Championships at Fair Hill 2020, with a win on a 81.05 at his qualifier, and placing the in the top 3 in 6 out of 10 of his events through the novice level the first year, this is an athletic young competitor with a bright future ahead of him.
Currently competing training level and with a slow development this will be shining star in the barn.

Rocky Top City
"Citka" 2010 16.3h bay OTTB gelding by Irish TB Century City
Sourced and owned by one of Jessica's friend and client, Kristi Johnson, Jessica was offered the ride in the winter of 2019 and they have developed a strong competitive partnership in a very short time. Moving up from novice to Preliminary in two years and a move up to Intermediate planned in 2022, this is one of the most talented horses in Jessica's care. With an incredibly natural, scopey jump, Citka has every quality Jessica looks for in a talented partner and with their talents combined make an impressive team.
Looking forward to the future with a move up to intermediate in the fall/winter season, this is a pair to watch as they campaign their way to the top levels.
